Farmers buy trees and grow hedges to provide shelter from the wind – for livestock, for buildings and for people.
Our Scottish grown trees and shrubs act as a natural wind break and the locally sourced planting stock is well adapted to provide habitat for wildlife.
Native hedges also provide a natural ‘wall’ from roads and shelter from road traffic, both as a sound and visual barrier. Trees and hedges of local provenance can also provide an element of privacy.
We assist farmers who work upland/ lowland, coastal and hill farming locations.
Planting native trees also works towards Scotland’s climate change targets. The Scottish Government Agri-environment Climate Scheme suggests that this kind of work by farmers can help by “reducing greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture”.
