A warm welcome to Beechgrove Trees and Hedging
We have built and run a small, family tree nursery from our small holding in Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland. With a strong background in ecology, as well as extensive experience, knowledge and understanding in all areas of land management, we have our feet firmly grounded in the land.
Our Approach
We take a personal interest in our tree and hedging nursery and are involved in every element of the business from collecting acorns to project consultancy. We try and make sure we understand the customer’s management objectives behind any proposals so that we can make the experience as beneficial as possible.
We will advise on what trees are best in what situation using our expertise of biodiversity, native planting for regional growing conditions and our knowledge and understanding of the land and land management issues.
Healthy Native Trees
After noticing a dire shortage of locally grown native broadleaf trees in the region, we officially set up our tree nursery and began collecting local seed to provide for this need.
We propagate, nurture, grow, acclimatise and provide healthy native trees and shrubs of local provenance.
These native trees are for Foresters, Farmers, Landowners and Community Groups or individuals who have a range of project ideas and requirements.
Right trees in the right place
Creating a new native woodland from our locally sourced planting stock in Dumfriesshire is one example of the non-timber benefits of growing trees.
The demand for planting local, native hedging is another reason people contact us at Beechgrove Tree Nursery, near Dumfries.
Although we are local to Dumfries and Galloway, we can offer UK wide delivery.
Our strong plants are well adapted to our regional growing conditions, being trees of Scottish origin where possible. We have a wealth of experience in fitting the right trees to the right place.
